Hello, Friend.

I wasn't willing to accept that living well with diabetes meant giving up every food I loved.

So I stopped following rules and started looking for clues. After twenty years of living with diabetes — and one career as a pastry chef — I built My A1C Coach to help you do the same.

Think differently. Recognize your patterns. Advocate for yourself with confidence.

You're in the right place.

You're in the right place if…

  • You've tried everything and your blood sugars still feel completely unpredictable
  • The same breakfast gives you two totally different results and you have no idea why
  • You've cut carbs, gone low carb, tried keto, tracked everything — and still feel like you're failing
  • You feel guilty after meals that don't go "perfectly"
  • You're exhausted by the hundreds of decisions you make every single day
  • You've been told what to do — but never why it works or why it sometimes doesn't
  • You just want to understand your own body again

If you nodded at even one of those — I'm so glad you found me.

Welcome to my world

My story

I ask a lot of questions. I've never been very good at accepting "because that's just the way it is."

When I was diagnosed with diabetes more than twenty years ago, I did what most people do.

I counted carbs. I read books. I listened to experts. I worked incredibly hard.

And still — some days nothing made sense. The same breakfast could give me two completely different results.

Long before I became a diabetes coach, I was a pastry chef. Which meant I wasn't willing to accept that living well with diabetes meant giving up every food I loved.

So instead of asking "What can't I eat?" — I started asking "Why did that happen?"

That single question changed everything.

Little by little, I stopped chasing perfect numbers and started collecting clues. I learned that blood sugars aren't random. They're conversations. Every meal, every walk, every stressful day, every sleepless night was telling me something.

Once I learned how to listen, diabetes became far less mysterious.

Today I still live this every single day. I still experiment. I still celebrate when I find a new pattern.

Because I genuinely believe understanding is far more powerful than memorizing rules.

That's why I created My A1C Coach.

Not to tell you what to eat. Not to promise perfect blood sugars.

But to help you think differently, recognize your patterns, and confidently advocate for yourself.

After twenty years, here's what I wish someone had told me from the beginning:

"You don't need to know everything. You just need to know what question to ask next."

If you're here, I'm glad you found me. Let's start looking for the clues together.

That moment is coming.

The one where you walk into a restaurant, look at the menu, and order what you actually want — because you understand your body.

Confident. Curious. Back in control.

That's what we're building toward.

Real people. Real shifts.

What happens when you stop reacting and start reading.

I've had diabetes for 14 years and nobody ever explained it to me the way Julie does. For the first time, I feel like I actually understand my own body.
